ReportCellPhoneUse.com was created to address the exponential growth of cell phone use by today's drivers and the ever increasing distracted driving and related crashes that are plaguing our communities and roadways each and every day!
ReportCellPhoneUse.com began after a distracted driver rear-ended my wife while she was stopped at a traffic light. The driver, traveling 50+ mph, never braked before running over her. Her car in turn hit 5 additional vehicles; 4 immediately in front of her and 1 in front of her but in the left turn lane. All 5 cars were totaled as was our wagon. The driver of the vehicle that crashed into the rear of our car was using his cell phone and was 100% distracted. We know this after subpoenaing his cell phone records.
This real-life story continues.... the distracted driver was driving a company-owned vehicle and had just left a work-site heading to another customer location. Within months after this crash, the company filed for bankruptcy and closed its doors and laid off dozens of employees.
Our innovative driver monitoring solution was born out of the necessity to assist companies like yours in enhancing its fleet & driver safety and risk prevention initiatives - most specifically cell phone use by employees (drivers) while behind the wheel of company owned vehicles.
Our mission isn't about building the next Unicorn company, it's strictly about saving tens of thousands of lives each year and helping families avoid the pain and suffering experienced by so many from the selfish actions of distracted drivers and avoidable crashes!
If your organization is wanting to enhance its driver safety programs, wants to protect its bottom-line and reduce its auto-loss runs, join us on our mission to end Distracted Driving!
Mr. de la Chapelle's fleet experience spans nearly 30 years.
He bootstrapped a successful printing, warehousing & distribution company in the Chicagoland area in 1993, catering to Fortune 500 companies. This was also his introduction to the rewards and headaches of owning and managing a fleet of delivery vehicles!
He successfully sold his company in early 2007 and from the recommendation of a headhunter, joined a global telematics company that had just spun-off from its corporate parent and taken private.
Mr. de la Chapelle would spend the next 14 years in the telematics / in-cab video industry in various leadership roles. His tenacity to evolve and push the boundaries of "black box" and in-cab video hardware lead to many cutting edge, technological advancements utilized today. His reporting algorithms used to identify and score high-risk drivers utilizing accelerometer data are still used today across a multitude of platforms and insurance company's in-house telematics solutions.
In addition to his telematics experience, he expanded his knowledge base to fully learn and understand about driver safety and driver behaviors. Mr. de la Chapelle is a certified National Safety Council DDC-4 Instructor and has presented the NSC DDC-4 Course to thousands of drivers representing 100's of companies across the nation. He has also presented multiple times at various state and national associations and conferences on the topics surrounding driver and fleet safety, education and training.
After years of building sales teams, go-to-market strategies and accelerating revenues and growth for multiple GPS companies (mostly PE-backed), Mr. de la Chapelle left the GPS industry in late Q3 2019 immediately following another successful exit.
While traveling Europe in late 2019, he drafted a business plan for ReportCellPhoneUse.com on the premise that there has to be a better, more cost effective solution that provides immediate benefits and measurable results for its clients to minimize distracted driving and reduce at-fault crashes and related expenses.
ReportCellPhoneUse.com is just that solution - an inexpensive, proven safety tool that provides immediate ROI, true modifying of driver behaviors and incredible results for both insureds and insurance carriers.
For anyone that doesn't believe distracted driving is the root cause of 74% of all "on-the-job" vehicle accidents they're incredibly naive.
Nomophobia and drivers’ addiction to cell phones is a major issue plaguing businesses and our roadways today!
If you think your drivers are not on their phone throughout the day while behind the wheel of a company vehicle, you are being extremely naive or you do not truly value the safety of your drivers and the communities your organization serves.
